Did you noticed that the android versions are started alphabetically from A to Z, and now it’s on N.
The development of android started in 2003 by Android Inc. Which was purchased by google in 2005.

The two internal releases was Alpha and Beta and later the series continued from initial letter C.

The Names of android versions are set on the Sweets.

Let’s see the Versions of Android.

                                                            
  • Android 1.0 


         Released on September 23, 2008


  • Android 1.1 (Internally Knows as “Petit Four”)


          Released on February 9, 2009


  • Cupcake (Android 1.5)

             Released on April 30, 2009











  • Donut     (Android 1.6)   

              Released on September 15, 2009













  • Éclair  (Android 2.0, Android 2.1) 

                     Released on October 26, 2009














  • Froyo   (Android 2.2)

                   Released on May 20, 2010











  • Gingerbread   (Android 2.3)  

                   Released on December 6, 2010








  • Honeycomb (Android 3.0, Android 3.1, and Android 3.2)

                Released on February 22, 2011













  • Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0)

              Released on October 19, 2011














  • Jelly Bean   (Android 4.1, Android 4.2, Android 4.3)

            Released on July 9, 2012.










  • KitKat (Android 4.4)

                Released on October 31, 2013











  • Lollipop (Android 5.0, Android 5.1)

         Released on November 12, 2014









  • Marshmallow (Android 6.0)
             Released on October 5, 2015








  • Nougat        (Android 7.0)

              Released on August 22, 2016










  • OREO        (Android 8.0)

     Released on Android 8.0 "Oreo" is the newest version of the Android mobile operating system. It was first released as an alpha quality developer preview in March 2017 and released to the public on August 21, 2017.



And the next version of android will be Starts from Initial “P”.
